What does it mean when a guy jokingly asks "are you stalking me"?

hey so i work with this guy at t*rget and we talk anytime we see each other. we work in different departments of the store so i don't exactly work with him but i try to see him as much as i can. i try to go to the same spot he's packing online orders at so i get a chance to speak with him. while i went to grab orders, he asked the second i walked in, "are you stalking me?" as a joke ofc so i said "i'm your personal stalker" and we laughed. but this is his second time saying this before. the first time was a few weeks ago i believe. does this mean he's noticing that i'm trying to see him? i still am doing my job so it isn't out of the ordinary that i see him constantly. and nothing is awkward because after that, we just spoke normally like always.

i should say: the spot where he packs orders is the same spot i pick up the orders. so, i would be seeing him no matter if i do or don't speak with him! we're both our job, so anytime we see one another we talk perfectly fine! i just work extra hard to get a chance to talk to him, i don't follow him lol!

Well then his quip was probably him picking up on the signs and making sure they were real, not just his imagination.
