Why do I see my age girls as, a bit older if they are married? I noticed a change in my tone at that time. Is this only me or happens everywhere?

I was talking with my friend. She was pretty cool. She still is.

But the moment I came to know that she married nearly 4 months ago, I suddenly, began to see her as a bit older than she already is. She is 22, but I saw her something around 24 or 26 somewhere near that.

And then I, involuntarily shifted my talking tone from a bit relaxed to a bit controlled one. As if, I was watching what I was speaking. A kind of respectful tone.

Has this happened with you anytime, or is this weird and exclusive to me?

Because people generally have to be more mature to get married. And marriage is a big responsibility. So we naturally give them that deference and extra level of respect. Because they've earned it!

The love remains the same.

the responsibility for them changes as they get older and the authority we have in their lives changes as well. We’re less protectors/providers and we become friends.

I don't know many married people. Perhaps you act this way because marriage brings some responsibilities that the average 22 year old is not ready to take it yet.

And you don't want them to tell their husbands that you were disrespectful.

That being said, no this doesn't happen to me.

nope... I will speak to a 22 year old the same way I speak to a 24 year old... lol

that's just weird, I cannot see myself changing the way I talk... or having 20 to 30 different ways for me to talk with people according to their age or marital status

I only see em as old if they’re actually old. Married or not. Old to me is like 35+
