Walked behind my crush in the hallway. His friend tapped him on the shoulder, he kept staring the entire time we were walking. What could this mean?

If his friend tapped him on the shoulder, he likely told him something to the sort of "hey dude, this girl seems to like you". Of course he would stare at you the rest of the way, he wanted to see if it's true.
