Boyfriend hanged up on me for not talking as much as he wanted me to?

He kept interrupting me but I did tell him how my day went and talked about movies then he said calling me back later so he did 5 min later but I forgot what I was going to say after. I was quiet for about 1 min and he didn't have much to say besides saying I'm quiet. Then he said "im going to call you back because you're not even talking" he hanged up like that!

I think this happens because you are calling each other on routine or like if it's something "to do" and not because you actually call in order to say something in particular. But the problem is, sometimes, you really have nothing to say, or have your mind focused elsewhere. I've been there with 2 of my exes, I was supposed to talk all the time and to call after school/work, at the same hour everyday. They would get mad when I was silent or struggling to find something to refill the silences, offering very basic words that mean nothing, sometimes (like "Mehh today it's that kind of days...", with no meaning at all).
After these experiences I absolutely stopped calling someone on schedule.
Now, if you were in real life, meeting on scheduled times, probably you would be allowed to stay silent because you'd refill the space with physical contact, cuddles or sharing something you're doing in the moment. But calls are strictly limited to "having something to tell", so...
I think in your case, if I forget what I was about to say before, I'd just say:"Now I can't really remember, sorry for the call, if it comes back to my mind I'll text you that", etc.
Worth pointing out that while you forgot the topic, he forgot as well what were you saying because he didn't help you remembering I guess. If so, then he wasn't even interested in the content of what you say but only in the fact you talk to him, like a proof of your care/interest, but that's just a wrong proof to look for.
I think you should sort out this problem addressing it because if you call at scheduled times, it will happen again, sooner or later, that you won't have much to say, and he neither, repeating the silence. So you should reorganize the way (and the why) you have calls.

Yes!! This is exactly what's happening! He wants to talk to me every single day and he also text me everyday asking what im doing or how my day is so by the time he calls me I have nothing to really say since I already told him by text. I get so frustrated because he acts like its just me and I say why isn't he talking then? It is true what you say in person is different

I too would hang up if someone isn't going to talk. Your basically wasting my dollars being on the phone not talking. Also he told you he was going to hang up its not like he just hung up

I was talking to him I was initiating conversation before he hanged up 1st time then 2nd call I was trying to think what to say.. so then tell me why do I always have to talk? He can talk to

Yeah all of a sudden he's becoming impatient and rude not sure whats up with him. I told him it was so rude of him and he told me he's sorry, but I was really upset with him and wanted some time to cool off and he got upset saying why I have to be mad.. like huh? He hanged up on me and expects me to not have emotions?
