Guys: Why are men’s public restrooms always trashed? Gals: Why are yours always so much nicer?

Men’s public restrooms are almost always disgusting.. paper towels toilet paper on the floor, piss-sticky floor by the urinals, just a freakin gross mess.

The women’s public restrooms I have seen are always wayyyy nicer, clean, picked up, decorated and just well kept.

Really? This was not my experience as a janitor at numerous banks (and one clinic) back when I was struggling for money.

From what I went through, it's often the other way around. The women's bathrooms (especially in medical offices) are THE MOST trashed I have ever seen. The use of toilet paper and towels are so extreme that they're thrown all over the place, and the waste containers are often packed to the top with a bunch of trash that aren't even supposed to be there. Like food and drinks. There was even one time I found panties (with poop) that was thrown in the trash. Like, wtf!

The problem with the men's room is that---while it's often WAY less messy than the women's room---it is definitely the most smelly, and the toilets seats are almost always pissed on and/or never flushed. This is probably because a lot of men go to the bathroom to do their business fast and then leave. I suspect this because they use way less paper towels... which might also mean they don't wash their hands.

You obviously haven't been in too many women's 🚽 restrooms. They can be every bit the gross pigs guys are.

A lot of it largely depends on which gender most uses bathrooms at a certain place. At medical offices and banks, it's mostly women who go to those places and thus the women's bathroom will be more trashed and gross. At places like gas stations the men's is going to be more trashed because men more frequently use those bathrooms. But yeah I traveled a lot with my dad when I was younger and there would be many times where I went into a gas station bathroom and it was generally fine, and he would come out and say that his shoes were literally sticking to the floor from where he had been dribbled and fried on it.

I worked a job that involved cleaning restrooms and... The myth that one or the other was clean while the other was a mess was never true. They were both a mess.

There were only a few things I noticed between the two... For guys, it's pubes in the urinals. Guys, WTF is wrong with you? How the hell do you get pubes in a urinal? That's gross.
And girls apparently can't remove toilet paper from the holders without getting extra sheets everywhere.

@CountessSarah As for the pubes in the urinals thing.. I’ve seen that too. I think they just fall off when we pull it out. I really can’t explain it any other way! But I imagine it certainly is kinda gross for the person who has to clean the urinals! 😕

They’re not always clean. Besides I’ve heard there are some schools in south England with female urinals so I guess it might be similar situation not sure

Isn’t it interesting that southern restrooms used to be spic and spam? Or that the restrooms in Europe are generally very clean… but we of course cannot consider the reasons restrooms are so filthy
