Of course we do. But that doesn't mean much. Notice your current feelings and behaviour. The whole making someone wait is to cause this and is of course not something we would intentionally do to a normal friend but might do to someone we like.

And also, with gaming he very likely might have just missed or forgotten it. Sending two texts really isn't that bad a thing.

I personally hate text conversations and will do anything I can to avoid them, including waiting hours to respond to a text. I also make it very clear that I prefer talking in person or over the phone. Personally, I really only use texts for like a maybe 2-3 message interaction. Anything beyond that, just call. I just find the whole thing a time killer and someone's feelings always inevitably get hurt or they get concerned because the frequency of your texts isn't what they expect -.- it's silly

That and you can't hear someone over text too. So much of communication is through tone and body language and things get easily misunderstood through text
