Why would a guy keep saying “oh” or “ok”?

We were texting and everytime I said something he would reply like 20 minutes later and say “Oh ok” and then ask me a question. And then he would keep repeating the same thing. Why do guys say “oh ok”? Or why do they say “oh” then say something about them?

That's just a filler word/expression that some people write. It's like saying "ummm" or "so."
