How convince boyfriend stop using drugs?

I dont know anymore what to tell him

I've no idea

I read a lot a lot of psuchology and help for addict people couples etc

But he won't listen he says he controls it and can stop when he wants

Says he just likes it

The thing is you can't convince someone to stop using drugs, they must convince themselves they want to stop drugs. The I'll stop when I want to is a cop out. Most people who are addicted, feel like they can stop but they won't. You may have to move on, unless he changes his ways.

Get used to it because let’s be honest we addicts don’t live long doctors like to give us hope we can recover but years of abuse does major permanent damage and takes many years off our lives

Get him to go to rehab. But if he doesn’t listen you gotta leave him and mean it. He’s not that great of a person if he’s hooked on drugs.

It’s just a really bad idea to date a drug addict who won’t get help. He might OD he might steal your money he might get you in trouble with the cops he might get you pregnant cause he’s all drugged out and not being careful he’ll definitely worry you a lot.

I understand that. But whether it is alcohol or some other drug, if your partner is addicted to some substance then there are three people in the relationship.

Think about that seriously. There is you, there is him and there is his drug of choice. I had a partner who was alcohol addicted. I went a lot of hard yards on that. The bottle was a third person and was always more important than me and I think you end up looking backwards and seeing that.

Above it says 30-35. That's not old but it is not young either. Early twenties if you waste a couple of years and it doesn't matter. In your cohort it does start to matter if you waste years.

I can understand he is the candy shop for you.

But I think you need to ask yourself what sort of life do you want (excluding him) and then ask would he fit that or couldn't fit that. Recreational use doesn't remain that way. Likely a lot of money will go into drugs.
