It's certainly got a bad reputation for it, but you're meeting up for a date and that's what dating is for. So you can get to know him, his intentions, what his values are, goals etc. there's nothing to worry about. The worst thing you can do on a date is not be yourself. Even if you do something silly and make a fool of yourself, if there's chemistry it won't matter.

I actually went on a first date once where I accidentally hit a cat with my car... yes, she was in the car with me... long story short, after the cat was rescued by animal control I still got a second date afterward xD lol you never know
