If I smile at a guy (more than once) and they look shocked then have a confused expression why?

I given my friend the same smile and she said it’s like a nice friendly warm smile directed right at the person, then you remove it quickly as if it’s forced or you never really wanted to smile in the first place.

i realised they act surprised as if they are about to smile back then just before they do they either sigh or scrunch their face in confusion. this has happened to me about 3 times that I have tried to smile at a guy I thought was cute

Probably because that's never happened to them. I wouldn't know how to respond either. People just quickly look away with they see me

Don’t remove your smile that quickly… if by the time they try to smile back and they see u just staring at them w no emotions, anyone would be confused
