Hello. So recently a guy I know, he’s a work colleague and he helped me in some way regarding work, so as a thank you I bought him a hot drink and left it in my last friends office. She said to the guy misty has left a message for you in my office and his reply was …. “ is it her number” could this guy possibly have an interest in me, or could be insinuating something else? And If he is interested…. Why did he say this to my colleague (he doesn’t know for sure she would tell me) why not ask me for my number? He’s super confident?

I guess it's an indication that he thinks you're attractive, but otherwise it could've been just said jokingly, I don't know if it can be taken as serious interest or just arrogant banter between coworkers.
