My coworker asked me out but told me he was kinda considering another girl too. He then spoke about marriage in general, kept asking me to introduce him to my family/friends, said he was moving states and tried convincing me to move somewhere closer to his house. He's honest and not the type to lead people on, but I'm not sure why he's saying all this especially coz he's also considering another girl.

Is he just infatuated? Or dodgy?

He may be seeing what you’re looking for in a relationship and ask about things like marriage because if that’s what he wants maybe he doesn’t want to waste his time. Kinda weird to ask on a first date yet alone ask to move closer right away. I would move on and find someone else and end this now. I kinda see this as a red flag.

My wife had to coax me into if I wanted to get married. We definitely did not talk about marriage right away. We just enjoyed each others time and she was my best friend. We ended up getting married because we were basically married anyway, just not in any legal type of format and she wanted to have that official title. It meant more to her than it did to me about a title and ring around her finger. I was with my best friend either way and if it made her happy …

It's legal and it's perfectly fine as well, he approached me very decently, it's not like he wouldn't take no for an answer

The fact he asked you for a first date and immediately started saying anything about marriage or moving is a huge red flag. The other girl isn't an issue because that's what people do when they are dating, they date more than one to see who is the best fit.

Yeah I get that people date more than one person to find their best fit, but isn't it weird that he spoke about marriage, moving closer to his house and meeting my family when he was still considering the other girl?

Why would it be a red flag, I thought he was a traditional and spoke of family values? Is it still an odd convo to have on the first date?

Yes because there's a difference between being outspoken about wanting those things and another to speak of them as if he wants them with you so soon.

Thank you, I do know some people feel an instant connection but here it wasn't mutual and I wasn't sure if he was just saying it in the moment. I didn't even know what to feel about it. It felt off, thanks for elaborating.
