Was my boyfriend shy in this scenario?

So I went to my boyfriend's house for the second time this past weekend to watch a sports game and relax, so we sat next to each other, and he asked me about 30 minutes later if he could place his arm around me, as this was actually the first time he had placed his arm around me as the previously other times we were at movie theatres in which he could not do it and he was so shy, like licking his lips multiple times lol.

When I said yes he placed his arm around me and I was looking at my nails and making this weird sound with them, lol, as they had grown, so he told me jokingly to try scratching his hand as he wanted to know how it felt.
I scratched his hand, and he was like, "OMG, that feels so good," lol Then I laughed, thinking he was joking, and he started apologizing multiple times, and I told him not to worry and that at least I discovered something new he likes lol.
He also took me to his bedroom for the second time to check out the new bed sheets he had on his bed.

This is our first time in a relationship, and we are both virgins; we met on Hinge in June and made things official in August.
