Why do guys eyes sparkle when they see a girl?

I'd always heard that people's eyes get bigger when seeing those whom they desire.

Then one day I fully realized that my eyelids widen greatly on those occasions.

It continues to amaze me that that actually occurs without conscious intention.

The term sparkle may more colorfully describe that phenomenon.

Why?

Wider eyes let in more light, and they also allow more light to be reflected back to the desired, producing what could be described as a sparkle.

All the better to see the source of my desire, I suppose!
