i would say yes. some people use nicknames for all types of people and situations regardless of their relation to them, but the likeliness of him liking you as more than a friend and calling you “champ” are low.
Right like it sounds like something a guy would call one of his boys, he never calls me nicknames so for him to suddenly start and it’s “champ” almost as though he wants me to know I’m just a friend
Yes that is a clear friendzone unless it is a co-ed soccer thing or something.
What about we weight lift together would he maybe be calling me champ as a way to say I’m good at it after following his advice instead of definite friendzone?
