My crush called me his "good friend" am I friendzoned?

We were talking about something and when we agreed on a topic, he said something like "that's why we're such good friends". And this comes up occasionally in our conversations (we talk almost every day, and I'd say that he calls me his friend maybe once or twice a week). Does this mean that i have no chance?

There really is no way to tell for sure. Once there was a girl I liked, but didn't want to ruin anything by telling her, so I always mentioned how I liked being her friend nonchalantly. My way of letting her know she was important to me without admitting anything.

It might mean he only sees you as a friend but friendship can also be a precursor to a relationship.

Is friendzone different for guys? Aren't guys friendzoned with no chance when a girl calls them a friend? Is that the same for guys?

I don't think him calling you a friend necessarily means he has no interest. That could be a way he's trying to show he likes you if he doesn't feel comfortable being direct.

It seems like he only views you as a friend. Could he be saying it because he feels that you like him? And So he is trying to set boundaries between both of you. I understand why he'd keep mentioning it

Yeah he'd have to be an idiot not to know that I like him. But we also talk a lot about other things. Like everyday stuff, and also sexual things... like I know roughly how the sex would go, if we were to have sex...

i think we flirt a lot. we talk about all sorts of things, but when i get mad at him, for example, he'll always be like you're my friend and i care about you, don't be mad. that kind of stuff.
