Guys, A guy revealed he has low sex drive… would you ever admit that in front of a girl you like?

My guy friend “Dan” recently got out of a long term relationship and said he will have to start dating soon. While hanging out in a group, another male friend was talking to him about dating and suggested dating apps. “Dan” said “what am I going to find on that?” And I said “at minimum you might get some hookups” and he said “nah, I’m not interested in that kind of thing & My sex drive has been pretty low lately.”

for a while I suspected he was showing interest in me, and my friend thought so too… but once he said that, I assumed no guy who likes a girl would want to tell her he is dealing with a low sex drive.

Guys, would you ever say that in front of a girl that you had a crush on?

Context. "Lately" suggests he might just not be feeling like sex is very important right after a breakup; that can do a number on you. That's not really a sign of a lack of interest, especially because he was admitting it to another guy, not to you; you just happened to be nearby. Also, a low sex drive for a guy is still going to be higher than many women's; testosterone doesn't mess around.

Finally, some women get sick of being repeatedly pestered for sex; a guy could say that as a way of hinting that he's after more than just that.

I think you made some good points. He has been feeling insecure since his breakup. He also has said before that he wants sex to have an emotional connection involved, so maybe he doesn’t want something that’s just sex only

Probably not. I had my Testosterone level tested by my MD, and it was 'normal' and I have always had a very steady sex drive, but ever since I was very young. (Teens, and very early 20's) I have had intermittent erection problems, which some guys MIGHT interpret as 'low sex drive" and that is not the case. Maybe that is what he is referring to?

I’m not too sure, but I assume you would not admit that to a girl you liked either. We have gotten close since his breakup but still odd he would mention that. It must be hard to deal with as a guy so I sympathize in any case

My current girlfriend, whom I have known for probably 10 years or more now, have been "intimate" in that I have eater her out on New Years, to orgasm, and yet, on that same night, my penis was like a 'rubber band' afterward, and I was really embarrassed when she said very loudly "You're not hard" when I mounted her. We did not have any discussion, about my lack of an erection, but I DID afterward, send her a picture of my erect penis to show her that I could get an erection, ALTHOUGH a few days late! I am sure she does not think I have a 'low sex drive' or I would not have immediately stripped her and got my face between her thighs. (That should have been proof of that) We have not tried to have sex since then BUT we do go out regularly, and we like each other very much and she is a very good partner to me, and I to her. I think most would think we have an "unusual' relationship>

He has been sharing more with me and is attentive toward me , so I know we are becoming closer friends at minimum … and that he does trust me. I think it’s alright, because I think sex drive is something that can fluctuate over time. If he really does have a problem that lasts long term, as long as there is SOME physical/sexual touching and chemistry , it could still be alright with me

I have known him a while, but he was dating somebody the whole time until recently. We also only knew eachother through a mutual friend, so we would only see eachother if the mutual friend invited us both
