Why does it feel so weird?

A guy I have a crush on said I was beautiful and I told him I have a crush on him. He was very shocked but after 3 months of not seeing each other just hearing his name or thinking things we said feels strange to me. I'm not sure if it's because we have mutual attraction or something else.
