"Officially" it should mean that he feels like in a dominating position, as if he "owns" the place and the pile of boxes.
But that doesn't mean anything in terms of attraction if that is what you are asking, you can see some arrogant guys doing that in front of anyone, other males included, or when someone opened the door to someone unknown and "hold" the door frame with their hand, it's like saying:"This is my space".
