"Officially" it should mean that he feels like in a dominating position, as if he "owns" the place and the pile of boxes.
But that doesn't mean anything in terms of attraction if that is what you are asking, you can see some arrogant guys doing that in front of anyone, other males included, or when someone opened the door to someone unknown and "hold" the door frame with their hand, it's like saying:"This is my space".
If you look for signals of interest you really have to wait for more concrete inputs than this, more explicit, otherwise you risk to develop a crush on a bias.
He is breaking the barrier. This is communicating an interest and is usually a notification of intention. Whenever I do something like this then I follow up with conversation. Before I leave that setting, I will ask you out.
