What the hell was that?

Sooo... me and my male coworker were flirting for some time. But I never knew if he was genuine or just joking.

Anyways... his humor is kinda strange, even insulting at times. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I was kinda offended by his latest jokes about him "earning my salary"... asked me "what are u doing here... he he he" while I visited his department.

So he decided to stop talking to me... because according to him "I cannot handle his humor and I'm easily offended by it".

But we talked about an hour on the phone... about him not talking to me.

Later he told me about how his day went.. and what he is going to do and later I joked about "are you going to talk to me or will stop forever?".

He said... I didn't say "forever" and I will determine whether I will stop or not..

I was like "wtf" is going on here...

I do not think it is you. Wow, that is the weirdest sort of humor I have heard of. Apparently, his nonverbal skills do not communicate joking very well. It is odd that you could not detect that from tone. I am sure if you asked around the departments etc that you would not be the only one with this issue. Good luck with him.

He is toxic. It was normal that you got offended. It's better to keep your distance from him or even remove him out of your life completely if possible

I wish I knew... I went to work today and when he saw me, he just blushed and smiled at me like "I manipulated/played you very well last night"... and he talked to me... so I told him "so u made your decision, right?"
