Hey Guys, if you could would you buy something expensive for your female friend?

I have this guy friend and sometimes he says stuff that makes me go hmm 🤔 is he overly friendly or does he like me. Eitherwho so today we were talkjng about consoles and he blurted out “If I had the cash id buy you and your son that console”. I paused because I never hinted we wanted one (nor couldn’t afford one)…we were just chatting up video games and which console is amazing at the moment and that’s how it came out.

Does he have some sort of hidden interest or am I seeing something that isn’t there?

He's definitely not just a friend. No guy in his right mind would drop that kind of money on a woman who was just his friend in that context. He's trying to win your favor by doing something nice for your kid.

Normally guys won’t buy expensive things for someone who is not his family or in a serious relationship..
It’s a hint he really likes you and wants something more then just being a friend

Most likely likes you. I’ve done this before for woman I’m interested in and want to make in impression. More so not “flexing” the money but more in hopes it gets them thinking or taking hint as you are right now pondering its meaning. I will say it has only given me about a 50% success rate with thousands on thousands of dollars spent. So I personally def wouldn’t do this anymore as I’ve learned from this but a close close friend I’ve gotten decently expensive gifts for on occasions or if they are just going through a rough patch to cheer them up.

No that is wasteful. You simply don't just give away stuff you buy out of the blue. she can get second hand stuff, like if I upgrade stuff, se can get the old stuff I am replacing.

Well if it was a special occasion like their birthday or their celebrating an achievement and they're a close friend I would. I'd do the same for a guy friend as well.
