I used to be bullied by a kid in school and one day his dad committed suicide. And I thought "well, he'll leave me alone the next day". Nope he still messed with me the very next day. So when he did I said "Hey (his name), how's your dad". That immediately wiped the bully grin right off his face. I didn't feel bad about it at the time, but later on I did.

Yeah, decades later on my sister ran into him at a bar and he said that bothered him for a long time.
