He says he loves me but how can I tell?

I’m sure most people will say through his actions but is there anything specific I should look for? I’m just an over thinker and just want to be sure he means it when he says it.

I’m an overthinker and after being in a mentally abusive relationship in the past it’s hard to think “normally” at times. Even tho he shows me nothing but positive actions etc I try to convince myself that there’s no way this can be real. It’s all too good to be true but then I do snap out of it but I always end up overthinking again.
