Lending camos for hunting isn't like lending regular clothes. He's right, you'd do better with camo. Although stealth is a hell of a lot more important. Keep in mind that in a lot of places, wearing bright orange vests are required for hunters.

Why is he doing it? I don't know. Maybe he likes you. Maybe he's being nice. Maybe it's just because of shared interests and he would do the same thing for other people who didn't have camos.
