Maybe he’s ashamed of her. Maybe he’s trying to fuck another chick so in order for that to happen he has to pretend he doesn’t have a girlfriend. Unless she’s ok w that knowing he has a girlfriend. It doesn’t have to be others business either, if he’s just talking as a friend to people he doesn’t need to reveal every detail of his life.

Some:

- the girlfriend is ugly

- the girlfriend is married

- the other girlfriends are not supposed to know

- the girlfriend pays him to not talk about it

- he's in prison; and his room mate is violently jealous

- he's a secret agent on a mission

- his parents are controlling
