So basically, i have a crush on this guy in my class. I am friends with his bestfriend so i asked him to tell my crush that I like him. After he told him, my crush started acting way more friendly and following me around everywhere. However, whenever his bestfriend makes jokes about us he gets all awkward and tries to avoid talking about it. he also does not try and flirt with me at all depsite knowing i like him. whenever he texts aswell, he never texts it to me directly he only texts it into the gc between me, his friend, and him. i am starting to wonder if he actually likes me or if he just said yes because he thought i was his only option.

It's difficult to say exactly why your crush is acting the way he is without knowing more about him and your situation. However, there are a few possibilities to consider.
First, it's possible that your crush is simply shy or uncertain about how to proceed. He may be interested in you, but unsure of how to express his feelings or make a move. This could explain why he avoids talking about the jokes his friend makes and why he hasn't tried to flirt with you.
Another possibility is that your crush is not actually interested in you romantically, but is trying to be friendly and polite. He may feel awkward or uncomfortable rejecting your advances, so he's trying to be nice without leading you on.
Finally, it's possible that your crush is interested in you, but is hesitant to pursue a relationship because of other factors in his life, such as a complicated personal situation or a fear of commitment.
Regardless of the reason for your crush's behavior, it's important to communicate openly and honestly with him about your feelings and expectations. If you're confused or unsure about where you stand with him, try talking to him directly and asking for his perspective. This can help you both understand each other's intentions and avoid misunderstandings.
