Men: Has simp consciousness changed you, or are you still a simp?

I know, it's an overused and hated phrase.

But this site is well known for being a sea of simps.

Every average girl here, is beautiful, apparently.

That's fine, to each their own and that.

But is there any reformed simps? Have you changed your behaviour? What's changed for you?

I would like to see more men have some self-respect and some standards.

So I will never say I am simp or ever was a true simp. But yes, it has changed me.

I have been in relationships with people that have definitely taken advantage of me. On some level, I always knew it and found it attractive and exciting on some level. We are often attracted to people who you feel have great energy, motivation and drive.

I date a woman and I always told her that she had so much energy about her, that I could never compete with it, but only bask in its glory. And seriously when turned that energy on you in a good way you felt like the greatest man in the world. And when it was an off day, she could tear you down... but then rebound the next day and give you the time of your life.

But in the end, it was emotional manipulation, and I knew it, but loved it. So, in that regard I was a simp, and knowing that about myself has allowed me to make different life choices. Because in the end it was not my kind, generous nature that was the problem... it was the power I gave them in my life, and the patterns of behavior I accepted, and thereby enabled within relationships.

They were who they were, and I accepted that about them... and made it okay for them to be that person. But in the end, it really wasn't okay at all. It wasn't true happiness... I just being a simp.

So yes, being aware of that fact about myself has changed me. I will not tolerate these patterns of behavior anymore from women, but more importantly I will not tolerate it in me.

Never got called a simp on here, but that's mostly because although I do my best to be friendly and polite, I don't see g@gers as real people but just as usernames on a screen.

IRL I do my best to be the same with real people, but I'm not afraid of reminding them the consequences of displeasing me, be them men or women.

Yeah, mutual respect is definitely the way. I'm referring to men who elevate women and excuse bad/narcissistic behaviour at the expense of themselves.

I encountered many Simps when I was single. Some of them can be quite teo faced and vicious when rejected. Or very manipulative playing the Nice Guy.

There's some definitions here, some are better than others.

Generally a fellow who elevates women and enables their narcissistic behaviour, at the expense of themselves.

Some say it stands for (forgive the unPCness) Suckas Idolising Mediocre Pussy.

A simp is just someone who has desire but no leverage. Nothing is wrong with the desire. I keep telling airheads this. The problem is when you don't have leverage.

High value people have leverage. That is what makes this high value.

I think it depends on your definition of "simp".

Guys KNOW all women want a certain amount of (for the lack of a better word) "romancing". What separates a normal guy and a simp is the willingness to admit when he's wasting his time but still continues in desperation that she'll change her mind. And to the outside observing guy hates to see a guy embarass himself life that so they call him simp. Because he makes all guy look bad by his desperation.

Yes I would like to see more men find thier balls. But I can't live a guys life for them. They're just going to have to figure it out the hard way probably.

I absolutely love being a simp, but what a lot of women probably don't know is that I love it when they tease me and never let me have sex with them. In other words, I'm not kissing their asses because I'm trying to have sex; I'm kissing their asses because I love doing it:)

How do I get self-respect? Is it by doing stuff I am proud of? Or am I just supposed to respect myself for no reason?

Perhaps a bit of both? Like ultimately, we only have our selves to rely on. And if we can't respect ourselves, then it's hard to see how other people can respect us. We have to find our inner strength. But by the same token, we can do things in life then indicate and therefore reinforce our lack of respect for ourselves (ie by engaging in some of the self-deleterious behaviours I have referred to).

Overall, it sounds like you are not confident in yourself.
