Most of my relationships have been LDR and I think they are also great for understanding one's self. Certainly told me how love works and the difference between Lust and Love.
I would try to make it work out. Until then I would want some Facetime or Zoom video calls where we watch each other pleasure themselves.
I have done it before and its a good thing to do. If both are living apart different countries then you both have to get close each other
