Why do most guys don’t want to try LDR

Putting it most bluntly, what's the point? And I don't mean that rudely or dismissively.

The problem with most LDR is that there isn't an objective or game plan. Like LDR because one member is in the military or diplomatic service or finishing school -- I get it. But one person lives in New York and the other in Germany just because? No chance for that to work.

And so why bother? What's the point. A relationship needs connection, not worries over time zones and logistics and cost and travel and never seeing each other.

Relationships are hard work even when two people can see each other frequently. LDR makes that exponentially harder and, again, what's the end game?

I can understand having a friendship with someone who lives a long way away. But relationship? Maybe I have a different idea of what "relationship" means.

For me to get serious about someone, I need to hear their voice; see their body language and mannerisms; go places and do things and be with each other; kiss and touch. A relationship has to eventually become sexual.

I hate having conversations via text. It's like having a relationship with a "device". And the person on the other end can barge in on you whenever they like and expect a reply.

It has all the disadvantages of being in a relationship and none of the benefits. I was sin one for three years. They were cruel and lonely years for me. I spent all my extra money on plane tickets. We wrote letters. mostly I just spent the whole time expecting her to find somebody local and dump me. After three years I was just really tired of the whole thing and latr one night after the rates went down I called her on the phone and broke up with her. It was hard to do and I wondered if I made a mistake.

Because there’s no point of it. Can’t hold her, can’t smell her, can’t go places w her. There’s a lot of “can’t.” Not only that men tend to need sex to feel loved. Women need to feel loved to want to have sex. Besides there’s so much temptation when she isn’t around for a long time, especially when you want to have sex.

I've had several fulfilling long distance relationships with women and their boyfriends/husbands. I mean it’s self explanatory. LDR comes with complications alone because of the distance involved. The further the both you are, the stronger the uncertainty will get
