What male height is best suited for a position of power and authority?
None really, it's simpler to command initial attention if you're taller than other people. If you only have stupid things to say, it makes you look that much more ridiculous though. Likewise Joe Pesci is about 5'4", and a lot of why he does command so much attention is that he's so short, but his confidence and presence are sky high.
Men don't really care about height, but what other guys get done. Women have huge preferences for tall guys, and that does translate over to work, as I have unfounded confidence in me from female coworkers and supervisors.

though the tallest height would be perceived as having the highest power and authority whether they truly have it or not
which is why chosen leaders tend to be taller than average

Mike Tyson was only 5'10" and back in the kid dynamite days you were an idiot if you weren't terrified if you stepped in the ring with him. In short it's not the dog in the fight it's the fight in the dog. I'm 6'5" and have been told I have an intimidating presence but I'm actually a giant teddy bear. It's been my experience that shorter guys hit harder. Respect is taken, not given. And height has nothing to do with that.
I don't know about y'all but my dad is 5'10 and some rando that was 6 feet hit on my mom and dad knocked him out in 1 go "strong essences are kept in small bottles"
'6 2" is good enough. Once you start to pass '6 "4 the dude tends to look like a goof ball.
Height doesn't earn respect or invoke fear.
