What does it mean when a guy gifts you food?

There is a guy I’m really good friends with that bought a container of his favorite candy with him… he asked me to try it and asked what I thought it and such… later on he preceded to gift me the rest and let me keep it. Is there a deeper meaning to this?

I just went downstairs to throw the trash in the bin and quickly peeked in a little shop downstairs, I know the shopkeepers, woman and a man. Bought bottle of water and some sweets.

The man gifted me chocolate. He just added it on top of my groceries after I bought everything. As if nothing but I really felt very happily surprised and just managed to smile out of surprise and say - thank you!

People are so kind sometimes. It melt my heart and ended my day perfectly.
