What did I do wrong should I have said more than just “hi” ?

Bascially we share the same gym whilst it was closed I added his insta and we spoke a little

seemed turned off due to my age. Seen him at the gym first day it re opened today and we exchanged an awkward quick hi as he was using the machine next to me then we never speak again, even tho he was working out beside me but I seen him talking to the staff who are also genuinely his friends and they looked over as though they where talking about me, the guy he was telling looked surprised and he was smiling… but then he never speak to me again

I don't think you did anything wrong.

A lot of guys get told not to talk to a girl at the gym... he may be operating under that model. He may also be hesitant because with regards to age there seems to be two camps: either an older guy is a pedo or the girl is okay with it and he doesn't want to make a wrong move.

Nex time you see him, talk to him. Make sure he knows you're interested.

Maybe he doesn't want to get in trouble with management. Most gyms have policies against hitting on other members. You should try chatting with him outside the gym.

That's not too bad. I agree with the other posters who said he may not be very forward at the gym due to the current climate. If you are interested you should ask him out for coffee or recovery smoothie or something
