I believe in common courtesy, having manners and being a good citizen, all of which are completely unrelated to being male or female. I hold the door open for other people, I give up my seat for the elderly, I guide blind persons to their bus or train, I render first aid or call an ambulance in case of an accident... that's the fabric of a working society. The obverse to that would be a dog-eat-dog dystopia where everybody fights everyone else for a piece of the carcass.

It's just having manners, some women like it. They like it more when a more alpha male would go to the lengths to do this for more special occasions. You don't have to open the door and stuff all the time, or it won't be special. But if she sees you as an alpha, she would like it more. Because they feel as if they tamed the beast.

1) what is one supposed to do when approaching a door and someone else is there with their hands full

2) how is opening a door for either sex representative of caring what a woman thinks?
