Is XOXO friendly or flirty from a guy?
The phrase "xoxo" is commonly used in text messages, emails, or handwritten notes to signify hugs and kisses. The "x" stands for kisses, and the "o" stands for hugs. Its use is often meant to convey affection, warmth, or closeness, although the level of intimacy implied can vary widely depending on the relationship between the sender and receiver, as well as the context in which it is used.
When a guy texts you "xoxo," he is likely expressing some form of affection or warmth toward you. This could range from platonic friendship to romantic interest. The meaning is also influenced by how often he uses such expressions and in what context. For example, if he sends "xoxo" at the end of a message discussing plans for a romantic date, it probably carries more weight than if it's appended to a casual, friendly conversation. Furthermore, some people use "xoxo" more liberally and with a variety of people in their lives, while others reserve it for those they are particularly close to.
However, it's essential not to read too much into a single instance of "xoxo." If you're curious about what the guy intends by it, the best approach is usually direct communication. You could ask him what he means, or see if the affectionate tone continues in future interactions to get a better sense of his feelings.

Is there some context to how/why that was sent. Like what was the conversation like that lead to that? That would tell me a lot more if it was meant to be friendly or flirty. I send xoxo to friends all the time of both genders. It means nothing more than friendly hugs and kisses. When I send it to my girlfriend it means something totally different even though I use the same xoxo. My instinct is to say he is flirting but without context of the rest of the conversation it is really tough to say for sure.
I mean most likely its flirty, but depends on the guy, could technically just be friendly. But I'd wager flirty.
Short answer: He’s Flirting for sure. If you really like him back hug and kiss him (or something lol) and if not take the compliment and walk away with dignity and self worth.
Also ask the question back to yourself; reverse the roles and replace the “when a guy texts xoxox” with “when a girl texts xoxox”. Yes women text xoxoxo to each other with actual meaning of they would actually enjoy huging and kissing each other but not sexually/sensual like lovers do. Guys just don’t do that to each other… at all. Never have I ever sent or received an xoxox from and dude, EVER. Yes I have sent “I love you” to my day ones but, super rarely.
Which leads me to think that this dude probably doesn’t hand out xoxox (s) to girls he wouldn’t mind xoxoxing.
Guys suck at flirting and this is a low key bold move I wouldn’t send this to a woman i was interested via text unless WE ACTUALLY HUG AND KISS. I mean hey, if I receive a text like this and I’m the slightest bit interested I’ll send the energy back or obviously if we were a thing. This is just how I am, not guys are the same when it come to texting. I’m more sexy flirty via text and it’s all about the right amount of boldness and timing. Even thinking about it, that’s almost like winking of blowing a kiss writing xoxoxo.
Xoxo has never been a context of friendship or being friendly but a concept of love. So it could be considered flirty if the conversation was themed as such. But if was more being supportive then it could be considered in love. Not always in a romantic way but in a positive of good will

What does XOXO mean in texting?
hugs and kisses
It's pretty common knowledge that XOXO means "hugs and kisses." As Dictionary. com defines it, the phrase is generally thought of as a "lighthearted way of expressing affection, sincerity, or deep friendship." The X represents a kiss, while the O represents a hug. Jun 6, 2023XOXO means hugs and kisses. No man in his right mind would EVER send something like that to a woman he was platonic with unless she started doing it as a 100% platonic thing

Hugs and kissess. Probably he is flirting with you, I've never seen XOXO in a friendship conversation.
Unless he also sends xoxo to all his guy friends too, then yes, that’s flirty.
You're 34. How have you not figured this out yet? Did you just wake up out of a coma last week?
It's just not possible that you are 34 years old and this has never happened to you before.
It usually means both, friendly and flirty. Hugs and kisses.
He wants to play 💀
It's an invitation to a game of tic tac toe. He's saying you want "x" or "o"? "X" or "o".
Somehow. Based on their way of saying it. But either way they said it to you since they're interested.
It means he is immature. The texting is childish enough.
That he is NOT manly.
You should reply: " gossip girl"
He wants to play Tic-Tac-Toe.
