Is it normal for a guy to have long nails?

As I play guitar I have quite long nails, but strange people do not understand and look directly to my nails. Is it normal for guys to have long nails? What should I do?

It usually means a guy does not do hard, manual jobs, because they usually break them doing those things. Also, it is usually girls that wear fake nails, because they break theirs too.

I have longer nails on my picking hand because I rarely use a pick, even for 7, 8, and 12 string, but not on my fretting hand as that would hinder my playing.

for guitar just have one long, but cut others because long fingernails are not normal, in our society.

Its not unknown for guys to have long nails, do not fret about it (pun). I take it that you play Classical/Spanish guitar so you either have to have good strong nails or use finger-picks, if you prefer nails then stay with them, as for the 'strange people' ignore them and enjoy your guitar.
