Why would a usually friendly guy be suddenly slightly rude and angry towards a girl?

When I saw him in the coffee kitchen yesterday and greeted him he seemed surprised but not really pleased to see me which is very unusual for him since he is very polite and seemed to like me. I ran into him today again and didn’t greet him at first because I didn’t recognize him from afar. When I said hello he replied in a very angry tone and left quickly. I never heard him talk like that to anyone. What is his problem?

Ever have a bad day when you are just not in the mood for anyone? Yeah bet you that is what happened here. Who knows what the problem was? All I can gather is he had one and wasn't happy or in a good mood about whatever happened. Maybe someone hit is car on the way to work. Maybe something unexpected happened at home. Maybe he had a fight with a spouse or girlfried. The list goes on and on. I wouldn't worry about it too much if this is not common and chalk it up to a dude having a bad morning.

How do you know it was intentional and how can you definitevly say he wasn't having a bad day?

Because I saw him talking to many people normally and he was too much out of character. It just felt like it was something personal

Hmm then I would retrace your interactions the past 24 hours and look for a clue there. It may be something you don't see as an issue but he might.

Also could have stemmed from him talking to other people and bam all of a sudden he is in a shit mood.

First thoughts is this…. Was he with someone at the coffee shop? If a guy is with someone or doing something he shouldn’t do they might be rude to blow you off so you don’t see who they are with or what they are doing. Does this make sense?

He was alone and usually he is just withdrawn on his bad days but today his tone was very harsh and aggressive
