It sounds like he only wants to hook up with you. If he can't get what he wants then you're no use to him. I'm sorry, it's harsh, but it's the truth.
You haven't said if you like this guy or whether he's just someone who's chasing you. But if you want more than just a hookup, hanging out with him is fine but he's going to stop chasing you as soon as you give him what he wants.
He's mad because he's figure out tat it's never going to happen.
