For non affectionate guys out there (the ones who can't seem to say I miss you, I love you) how can we tell you we know you care? We see your effort?

In a situationship. he's not an affectionate type like mentioned but i know he cares, walks me to my car, brings me my food, we text constantly about everything. Lately he's been hesitant for me to leave, or him leave when we hang out or has rested his head on mine when we have our parting hug (s). I know he struggles with the words, but i see what he does for me and how hard he's gotten to this point to show me what affection he does. I bring him food i know he likes and try to get it before he asks because i know he hates asking, or get him things i know he needs but won't ask for, but how do I tell him i see what he does for me without making it overly gushy because while im the affectionate type with words and touch i know it can be a bit much for him.

By his actions. Taking care of bills, mainly if you’re in a relationship already. I wouldn’t do that for a girl if we barely started seeing each other. I’d say maybe 1-2 years in I’d do that. He gets you food. Checks on you. I wouldn’t say so much opens the door because a lot of times men do that for women in the beginning to impress her. Most men aren’t wired that way to do those things, so that may subside eventually. He checks on you when you’re sick, calls to see if you made it home ok. Puts things on hold for you, helps you more. But keep in mind those are some of the same things men who just want to fuck would do.

Going on 7 months and he does more than what he did before, but we aren't in a full relationship. Its a bit complicated. Im working through a divorce, he's between jobs and to complicate it more he was friends with my ex. I've known him awhile, but prior to starting the divorce, only as someone who was good to have on your team in mmos, since I didn't feel right talking to my ex's male friends. After my ex and I called it quits, we started to game together occasionally and found out we get along and have similar interests outside of gaming.
