He´s a guy that wants the benefits of a relationship (sex, intimacy, fun...) but he doesn´t want no responsibility. It´s a modern trend that people differentiate between good and negative sides of a relationship where ironically good is everything they get and negative is everything they have to give.
It´s an illusion that leads to people not having deep relationships with each other because they are too afraid being hurt or disappointed by another person.

Modern dating is women don't act like traditional women (have bad unacceptable pasts and aren't respectable) so there is no reason to expect the man to act traditional either (loyal/faithful, spend time together other than for physical pleasure, etc.)
