Why is he suddenly nervous around me, he never used to be like this, does he like me?

He used to be normal round me but the last month or so, he’s gradually gotten more and MORE nervous around me… his hands shake and he scratches his arms as sort of a nervous tick and his voice goes higher pitched…. He’s much older than me, so I never thought he’d be interested in me.
Would he be nervous if he didn’t fancy me? I’m not sure, but he hugged me sort of loosely 3 times yesterday, can’t tell whether he’s interested or he knows I like him and it makes him uncomfortable?

Yes because I worry about what that might lead to. What if we end up having sex and I get her pregnant. Will I be able to handle kids? What if she just stops liking me and leaves me. And I worry about other things too. I become torn between the goodness of having the relationship and the problems of having the relationship.

Do you get nervous about it leading to Sex because of performance anxiety or anything like that? …also would you fantasise about her?

Those are some interesting questions. As a man I fantasize about being with a woman period! With that being said, I find myself thinking more about the woman I feel something extra special for. For an example: There is a woman at work, I have known her for 8 years. She used to be really really really nice to me, which gave me the impression that maybe she liked me. Other people have told me that she is just being nice. Because of her actions, I became fond of her. These days she is no longer that nice to me, but that impression is etched into my memory and feelings, and I can't get rid of it.

Performance Anxiety? Yes and No. It depends on how I'm feeling. Lately I would say it is reality that I might not be able to perform. I'm 44 years old, and my body is tired. The human body is a complicated machine. We don't always know why things work and why things stop working. I feel that my body has been a slow decline for a while now. Sexually it's been on a slow decline.

Let me ask you some questions. Is he single? Cause if He's married there might be some tension from that. Have you gently tried to point out that you have noticed that He appears to be nervous. And ask him about it. If he feels safe opening up to you about it. Then maybe things will smooth out. If you know some of his friends, you could try asking them.

He’s recently divorced. But still lives with his son and ex wife.

Sounds like He's got some baggage in his life. It is up to you what you want to do. My suggestion is, just be a friend.
