Why would a guy delete you and unmatch you after a first date saying it was great and we would follow up?

I thought nothing was wrong. He drove 45 min to see me We had ice cream. He hold my hands after and we hold hands throughout the night. We went to a park and he was a total gentleman. He hold me sayin he hasn’t done this in so long like the way he hold me. He also told me he doesn’t really go on dates but just focus on work, friends, and repeat… he said he wanna try dating but don’t feel motivated. I flirted with him sayin we can changed that now. And he said “maybe” then, at the end of the date he said we should do this again to go back to the park.

So why would he deleted me off social media and unmatch me after a good date…. Could he be taken? Or just be scare of commitment? It’s so confusing. It’s a shitty feeling…

Damn, that is weird behavior for sure after what seemed like a pretty good date. A few possibilities I can think of:

- Maybe he's not really over his ex yet or going through some personal stuff and isn't ready to commit, even to just seeing someone casually again.

- Possibly got cold feet after opening up more than he meant to and deleted you as a defense mechanism. Guys can be dumb like that sometimes.

- Could be jaded from past dating experiences and has a "hit it and quit it" approach even if the date went well, which is kinda lame.

- It's possible he's involved with someone else on the side, or met another girl and decided to pursue her instead for whatever reason. Some guys get options confused.

Honestly sis, sounds like it's his issue, not a reflection on you at all. You seem chill and it seemed to be going good. Might just have to let it go since he clammed up for no clear reason. Plenty more fish and all that. Don't let it get you down - his loss! Focus on you and who treats you right.
