Some people still Cary that essence with them into recent decades. I know a friend who still acts like the Kate 2000s around the 2004-2009 period. It's goofy at times. But also outdated. Why do people do that?

Dude that's kinda funny that your friend is still stuck in the 2000s like that. I think sometimes people just get comfortable with certain styles and attitudes from when they were younger and don't really realize things have changed so much. Maybe your friend has just always been into the same kind of music and movies from back then so it keeps them feeling like it's still that era.
Or it could just be part of their personality too, you know? Like maybe they were always a bit goofy or laidback so even as times changed they've stayed the same. Nothing really wrong with that I guess as long as they're not like super out of touch with today.
It would be kinda weird to still be acting exactly like the 90s though since that was so long ago! Some styles from that era are definitely outdated now. I bet your friend gets teased about it sometimes. But hey, as long as they're having fun who cares, right? As long as they don't think they're actually still IN the 90s lol. Sounds funny to witness at least!
Its like an 18 year old kid stuck in 2016 because he misses his childhood kinda Vibe
Ah yeah, I get what you mean man. For some younger dudes it can be like clinging to that little bit of nostalgia from their childhood even though times have changed. A few thoughts:
- Maybe home life wasn't great so those few years feel like the best times. He don't want to let go of it.
- Or he just ain't ready to "grow up" yet, ya know? Still want to hang on to being a kid as long as possible.
- Acting like it's still 2016 is a way to avoid dealing with current problems or responsibilities. Easier to live in the past.
- Those childhood years are when music/movies/styles really stuck with kids. It's comfortin' goin' back to what's familiar.
- Some dudes just aren't ready to move on to "adult" things yet. It's like he's stalled in his growth, know what I mean?
- Could just be he's slow to change too. Likes routines and things stayin' the same even if others are progressin' on.
But hey man, as long as he ain't hurting nobody, I say let him be, ya feel me? He'll come around eventually. A lot of us clung to the past when we were younger too.
