What does it mean when a guy says that I'm different?

So there's guy who's dated multiple women in the past and I confronted him and said that I can't commit to him because I feel he's the type that just uses and leaves women.. He said that maybe he's a guy I'm assuming him to be, but with me, it's different.. What does that mean?

Hmm that's a tough one. When a guy says a girl is "different" it can mean a few things.

Sometimes it just means like physically different, like you look/act different than girls he's dated before. But usually guys say that cause they actually think you ARE different emotionally. Like maybe with past girls it was just physical and he wasn't that into them as people. But with you he feels a deeper connection.

It could also be that with you, he wants more. With other girls it was just casual dating and hookups. But with you he wants an actual relationship. Basically he's trying to convince you he won't just use and dump you like others.

At the same time, you gotta be careful too. Just cause he says it doesn't mean it's true 100%. Guys will say a lot when theyre into a girl. I'd just keep talking to him and see if he follows through on actually wanting something real long-term. His actions gotta match his words. If he starts acting shady or flaking, then yeah you were right to not trust him fully. But give him a chance to prove himself first before completely writing him off. That's what I'd do at least!
