What does it mean when a guy thinks I'm unconventional?

Take it as a face value statement. Most guys mean what they say the way they say it, and don't need too much overthinking. He means you don't do things conventionally. It means you're different from other people. It doesn't necessarily mean you're weird. Chances are he was just making an observational statement to be taken at face value. Even if there were some deeper meaning, I can pretty much guarantee nobody can accurately tell you what it is, and that anything else will be 100% guesswork.

I say just take it at face value, and assume it's not a bad thing. Just be yourself. Even if by some chance he did think you were weird, it shouldn't effect the way you do things, or the way you think, so frankly, it shouldn't matter. Take it at face value. You're unconventional. Cool. Good for you.

I am not sure about if it's a compliment or otherwise, could be either depending on situations and behavior .

But such a statement comes generally when he finds you intriguing and that is one of the things that attracts one to the opposite gender.
