Should I wear jewellery?

I’m out for lunch with my friend *Jackson;* (not his real name). Jackson is ten years my senior. Neither of us are attracted to each other; we’re like family to each other. He’s a very good mate, but he sometimes gets lonely and desperate; and hits on me continuously, just because I’m a woman and I’m single. The dress code is smart casual. I’m wearing a pretty linen tiered dress. Should I wear my grandmother’s beautiful sapphire ring to lunch, or would that be likely to encourage him?

Girl, I would say no way on wearing that nice ring! Jackson sounds like a creeper as it is, you don't need to be giving him any ideas.

Linen dress alone is cute casual, leave the ring at home. Don't want dude thinking you're all dressed up special for him when you're just friends!

I'd also be real careful not to drink too much or let him corner you alone. Guys like that will try take any opening they see. Stay in public areas of the restaurant at all times.

Maybe invite another friend along too if you can? Safety in numbers and all that. Or at least have your phone nearby at all times in case you need to call for help!

Don't worry too much about being rude either. If he starts in on his moves, shut that ish down quick! You don't owe him anything just cause he buys you lunch.

A bit. I’ve told him twice to stop, but I think it’s kind of funny as well, as it’s hard to take him seriously. All my male friends have hit on me and I only really appealed to two of them. The others were desperate. You can tell the difference between when a guy is turned on by you and when he’s just desperate.
