I’m Autistic and I have trouble reading social cues. I’ve just started talking to a man from a dating site, a cute man from a good area, with a good job. He said he kept viewing my profile and was interested in getting acquainted but starting off as friends. I asked him if he’d like to catch up in person as friends and he said he doesn’t want to rush things, when we should get to know each other properly first. I don’t have great instincts, but to me, that sounds a bit strange. Like he maybe can’t meet up, because he’s taken. Also there’s a guy on the same dating site who stalked me for two years. So I’m wondering what might be going on here. Can anyone please help me to understand?

Sounds like he is taken and just likes talking to you or he is catfishing you and is not the person he claims to be. Has he sent you pics of himself

He hasn’t sent me any pictures of himself. The pictures I’ve seen on the dating site, don’t resemble the stalker, but I did wonder if it could be the same man, knowing I’ll cut him off if I find out it’s him. Is that a possibility, too?

Yes sounds kind of fishy if I’m suspicious of a girl I’m talking to all ask for a selfie of them holding up 3 fingers and if they can’t do that then I block them. I just think it’s weird he doesn’t want to meet up or send you pics. Have you sent him pics of you

No, I haven’t. He keeps insisting that he wants to get to know me slowly, that there’s no rush.
