If a guy who has hurt you message you on social media asking if he can text you is he trying to make amends?

If he genuinely wanted to make amends, then he would have done so already. I think this reach out is more about him wanting to clear his conscious so he feels better about himself rather than any genuine concern for you. He can reach out and be sorry but you have to ask: why now?

In my experience, being contacted by someone a while or a long time after they've wronged me was more about them wanting to be forgiven than about a need to apologise to make me feel better.
