Why do guys always say "forever and always"?

How come whenever some guys are in relationships, they tell the girl "We'll be together forever and always" and then break up with her? Is it just because they want some action, or do they truly think that they'll be together forever with that girl (I think it's because they want action). I don't know why guys say that, personally I think it's a little clingy, but do they think it's something that girls want to hear?

P.S. I do know that some guys actually say it because they aren't lying and truly love their girlfriend. But it seems like a lot of the time, that's not the case.

I would be hard pressed to find a guy under 25 who understands just what "always and forever" really means. When you're that young - you don't realize that life is fluid and unreliable. Who the knows what's going to happen in 10 minutes from much less an eternity from now?

They say it because they mean it at the time - and when the relationship goes sour, it feels like an eternity so they can break up guilt free.

but then through the relationship there's a misunderstanding and its over.

i doubt they'll be in a relationship and put so much effort in it when they could just go to teh club and get "action"

It's mostly that at those moments they feel that way. But as time passes by and problems creep in the relationship they realize they were wrong and break-up. And some other times the girl also breaks up with the guy. It's mostly a situation thing. You know, life doesn't always remain the same. That's how it is.

He might say it because he's trying to convince himself that the relationship's not doomed as he fears. People often try to convince themselves of things they know aren't true.

Don't believe everything they say, just be realistic will ya? He might feel that way at the time but things change people argue etc.
