If he tells you that he likes men, or otherwise shows you that he regularly dates men. Otherwise, all other signs are hit and miss. I've known some feminine sounding dudes who are straight. Some straight sounding dudes who are gay. Even cross dressing, traditionally, isn't a sign that someone is gay, but that he fetishizes wearing women's clothing.
