I got some pretty crap news today. My colleague (who I have a huge crush on) has announced that the clearance has cleared for a job that they applied for and they will be leaving in a months time.

We have always got on well and flirt a lot together. On a night out, we admitted that we like each other (while slightly drunk) and we kissed a little but it never went any further.

When he made the announcement to our small staff team, I noticed that he kept looking at me more than everyone else while he was telling us.

Why would he look at me so intensely when telling us that he is leaving?

Thank you for your input! I should mention as well that earlier on that day, we were sat chatting and he kept looking at both eyes and then my mouth. We then had a moment of gazing into each others eyes and smiling.
Then we were pretending to argue over something and he stood right in front of me so we were almost touching and he was just staring at me.

Wow girl, okay after hearing all that extra context, I really think he has feelings for you too! That kind of intimate eye contact and playful physicality you described definitely sounds more than friendly. And choosing to stand so close to you while joking around, staring into your eyes... yeah, no guy does that if he doesn't find a girl attractive.

It's honestly sounding like he wants to make a move but is holding back since you work together. But now that he's leaving, it might give him the courage to actually pursue something.
